India against child abuse

On January 30, 2023, an awareness session on self-protection and distinguishing good touch from bad touch was conducted for children in the slum areas of Maha Lakshmi Nagar and Shanti Nagar, Ring Road. The session aimed to educate the children about personal safety and was followed by the distribution of stationery items.

India Against Child Abuse

In India, two out of every three children are subjected to physical abuse. Among the 69% of children physically abused, 54.68% are boys. Over 50% of children experience some form of physical abuse, with 88.6% of those abused within the family being abused by their parents.

Addressing this issue requires a collaborative effort from parents, society, and the government. A multidisciplinary approach is essential for early intervention, and education for both children and parents on preventing and addressing abuse.

Vijay Social Welfare Society’s Child Awareness Program aims to educate children about various forms of abuse and how to protect themselves. The initiative seeks to reduce the incidence of abuse and make India a safer place for children.

On November 8, 2022, a session was conducted in Bheel Colony to raise awareness among children about different types of child abuse, the concept of good and bad touch, and the child helpline number 1098.
